Objectives

If a region of visible sequence is modified via the 'Edit Sequence' popup menu option, and the new version is consistent with the previous sequence, then the dataset references should be preserved, and just the start/end numbers for the visible sequence updated.

E.g. import this sequence:
SEQ A--C-DDDDDD

And select A--C, edit the sequence to just --. The sequence's start-end should then be SEQ/3-8, and only Ds should be shown.
