  22 <title>New Key Strokes and Menus</title>

  24   <strong>New Key Strokes and Menus</strong>
  25   <p>
  26     Many new <a href="../keys.html">keyboard shortcuts</a> have been
  27     added in Jalview 2.2 to make editing, selecting and navigating an
  28     alignment even easier. The selection commands in the <strong>Edit</strong>
  29     menu, and the alignment formatting controls within the <strong>View</strong>
  30     menu have also been moved into their own respective <strong>Select</strong>
  31     and <strong>Format</strong> menus.

  33   <p>Some of the more important new keystrokes are shown below :
  34   <ul>
  35     <li><strong>Page Up</strong> and <strong>Page Down</strong>
  36       scrolls through the alignment view.</li>
  37     <li><strong>Control I</strong> inverts the currently selected
  38       sequence set, and <strong>Control Alt I</strong> will invert the
  39       currently selected set of columns.
  40     <li><strong>Control V</strong> will paste the contents of the
  41       clipboard to the current alignment window, and <strong>Control
  42         Shift V</strong> pastes the data to a new window.</li>
  43     <li><strong>Control O</strong> opens the file browser for
  44       loading a new alignment or Jalview archive.</li>
  45     <li><strong>Control S</strong> saves the alignment with the
  46       current filename and format, and <strong>Control Shift S</strong>
  47       opens the <strong>Save As...</strong> dialog box.</li>
  48     <li><strong>Control T</strong> creates a new alignment view,
  49       and <strong>Control W</strong> closes the current view, or if none
  50       remain, then the whole alignment.</li>
  51     <li><strong>Control E</strong> will remove gapped columns in
  52       the alignment.</li>
  53     <li><strong>Control D</strong> opens the <strong>Remove
  54         Redundancy</strong> dialog box.</li>
