  12 The executables included in this package were compiled with the WATCOM C
  13 compiler.  This is a full 32 bit compiler that makes good use of the 386
  14 processor and does not work on the 16 bit 286.  It also has the
  15 advantage of allowing the flat memory model to be used.  In practice
  16 this means that porting programs like alscript  from Unix computers like
  17 the Sun, is straightforward.  In order to access the memory of the
  18 computer in this way, an extra program called a dos extender is required
  19 - this is called DOS4GW.EXE.  DOS4GW is automatically invoked every time
  20 you run one of the programs and is responsible for managing the memory and
  21 creating the swap file discussed above.
